Muaythai promotion Thai Fight makes its debut in Italy
Thai Fight Turin is held on May 27. The gala is the first edition of the famed promotion in Italy.
Earlier this month the organization announced the main event for the upcoming happening. “The King of Muay Thai” out of Thailand, Saenchai PKSaenchaimuaythaigym headlines the show at the PalaRuffini sports arena. He battles out against the 34-year-old Italian fighter Shan Cangelosi.
This week the promotion revealed that Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee (278-48-4, 66 KOs) is fighting in the semi-main event. Fighting out of Pattaya the 30-year-old faces off against Martin Meoni, 26, of Italy.
Sudsakorn is a two-time WKN World champion winning the title against Andrei Kulebin, as well as taking all Big-8 Grand Prix. Over the years he has also recorded the victories over Matthew Richardson, Ruslan Kushnirenko, Soren Monkongtong, among others. In his most recent bout he earned a unanimous decision against Johane Beausejour at Thai Fight Paris on April 8.
Although the resume of Meoni is much less decorative, he has indeed taken on some of the best characters in muaythai circuits. The Italian competitor is also familiar with facing off the top Thais, such as Saiyok Pumpanmuang, Kem Sitsongpeenong and Nopparat Keatkhamtorn.
The rest of Thai Fight Turin card is currently in makes. A number of prominent fighters announced to partake in the event. Iquezang Kor Rungthanakea, PTT Petchrungrueng, as well as Tengnueng Sitjesairoon feature on the program.
The promoter of the event is Carlo Barbuto. The show is organized in terms of Thai Boxe Mania.
