Kickboxing gala Tunisian Fight is held on Saturday May 6 in Tunis. The event is a debut of international series scheduled in Tunisia. Last October the World Kickboxing Network announced a campaign aiming to elevate the level of sport in this North African territory. To date the country has produced several notable athletes such as Issam Barhoumi, Yousri Belgaroui and renowned K-1 competitor Mourad Bouzidi.

In addition, the voice of Tunis is a famed rapper Bachir Baccour known as Tunisiano. He has been also noted in kickboxing circuits, appearing as a cornerman of a former world champion out of France, Farid Khider, when the latter challenged for the WKN title in Belarus in 2005. Tunisiano has also produced the ring entrance song for the French fighter.

The upcoming event this Saturday night is an international promotion with WKN title at stake. Mohamed Arfaoui of Tunis is up against Kader el Kaamouchi of France. The 3-round contest is for the WKN International middleweight title in oriental kickboxing.

The program at Tunisian Fight also includes a four-man tournament with Sabri Ben Henia, Aiman Al Rahdi, Sidy Barry, Hakim Ketaieb competing. A series of rating bouts also features on the card. Mohamed Galaoui, Julien Come, Zakaria Madei and Foroni Magali announced partaking among others.

The official press conference launching the event was held last month. The weigh-in ceremony will be conducted on Friday. Palais des sports de Rades accommodates the show.
