“Miss Dynamite” Laetita Madjene in semi-finals of Kunlun Fight women’s kickboxing tournament.

Chinese kickboxing event Kunlun Fight 61 is held on Saturday May 13 in Sanya. The program is an international fight bill that features one of the most famous muaythai fighters, Yodsanklai Fairtex, among others.

The event hosts the semi-finals of the women’s 61.5 kg kickboxing tournament. The competitors was previously scheduled for April 23 in Zunyi however was postponed.

Fighting out of French Jacou, Laetita Madjene (25-3-1, 8 KOs) takes part in the event. Representing the WKN Top Team, under the patronage of Michel Garcia and Cyril Chantereau, “Miss Dynamite” faces off Dutch champion Anissa Haddaoui. The bout is the first semi-final of the tournament.

Madjene entered the contest as the “wild card” last October. She defeated Candice Mitchell of Canada, consequently qualifying for the next round. On the way to the semi-final Haddaoui defeated Marisa Pires of Portugal.

In the second semi-final, the representative of China Wang Kehan is up against Anke Van Gestel of Belgium. Chinese fighter eliminated Korina Papachrysanthou of Greece and was lined up to take on Juliana Werner of Brazil. The latter defeated Diana Zubrovskaia. Van Gestel is the fighter replaced by Madjene last October, however she is reportedly a replacement for the Brazilian athlete.

The bouts are scheduled at 3 x 3 minutes rounds. The winners of the semi-finals will take one on another later on the year.

Semi-final: Wang Kehan (China) vs. Anke Van Gestel (Belgium)
