The star of K-1 Gokhan Saki leaves Glory Kickboxing and enters the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
On Thursday one of the biggest names in the heavyweight kickboxing, Gokhan “The Rebel” Saki announced his departure from the Glory World Series. Furthermore, he has announced an “exclusive long term contract” signed with the UFC.
“I’m glad I finally can announce that I have signed an exclusive long term contract with the UFC. The best investment the UFC has made since Conor McGregor,” Saki published on Facebook. “Soon I will show everybody what Turkey and the UAE bring to the table.”
In another post Saki has also revealed the reason why he has made such decision of terminating his contract with the Glory. The promotion’s current heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven appears as a main character.

During his career in kickboxing he has earned victories against such prominent names as Tyrone Spong, Daniel Ghita, Nathan Corbett, Melvin Manhoef, among others. Saki’s most recent to date bout was against Sebastian Ciobanu in 2015.
In addition, earlier this month “The Turkish Tyson” Gokhan Saki has attended the Dubai Fight promotion in the UAE. Alongside famed invitees at the event, he was seen shoulder to shoulder with the American actor Michael Jai White. The latter also appears to be one of the training partners of Saki.
“More it’s on! Hurricane, Gokhan headed to the UFC,” Michael Jai White captioned the video posted on Twitter.
The clip shows Saki in the gym when he enters the Octagon. Wearing the shirt with the emblem of the Glory, he takes it off. The one underneath represents the UFC banner.
