Tyrone Spong KO’s Juan Carlos Salas

The man known as “The King of the Ring” Tyrone Spong featured on the card at the “Brave Warriors in Action” on Saturday night in Mexico. The Pay-Per-View event was streamed live on Fite TV.

Undefeated in eight boxing bouts the Dutch-Surinamese athlete Tyrone Spong (8-0, 8 KOs) faced off against Juan Carlos Salas (6-11, 4 KOs) of Mexico. The scheduled for six rounds heavyweight encounter ended prior the final bell. A liver shot and an uppercut were enough for Spong to earn the victory. The official result proclaimed him as the winner by TKO at 1 minute 44 seconds of Round 1.

Tyrone Spong earned his notability in kickboxing. The K-1 competitor is a former Glory light heavyweight champion. Among everything, he has also collected the It’s Showtime belt as well as the WKN European title.

Over the years Spong claimed victories against such names as Peter Aerts, Remy Bonjasky, Nathan Corbett and others. His latest kickboxing bout was at Glory 15 Istanbul where he suffered a broken shin in the championship match against Gokhan Saki in 2014.

In kickboxing Spong declared the 74-7-1 record with 46 knockouts. In addition he is 2-0 in MMA.

The headliner at the “Brave Warriors in Action” event showcased Manuel Ceballos of Mexico winning a vacant WBO Latino light heavyweight title. He defeated Cesar Hernan Reynoso of Argentina by a unanimous decision.

Also on the night, Colombian Roamer Alexis Angulo of Colombia scored a stoppage against Argentine Rolando Wenceslao Mansilla and took a vacant WBO Latino super middleweight belt. In addition, Elias Espadas declared a TKO in Round 6 against his Mexican-fellow Sergio Torres at middleweight.
