UFC 213 fight card: eight bouts announced

MMA promotion UFC 213 is held on July 8 in Las Vegas.

UFC 213, held at T-Mobile Arena, takes place during the annual UFC Fight Week. To date the organization announced eight bouts featuring on the card. Two UFC titles will challenged during the evening.

In the main event a current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes faces off Valentinna Schevchenko. Brazilian athlete is looking forward to make the second title defense. She won the title against Miesha Tate last July and defended the belt against Ronda Rousey in December.

A multiple champion in Muay Thai out of Kyrgyzstan aspires to take a revenge. The pair has battled out last March with Nunes claiming a unanimous decision.

The co-main event is the UFC interim middleweight clash between Cuban Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker of Australia. The bout replaces a previously expected bantamweight championship between TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt, which was cancelled due to a back injury of the latter.

Ranked No.1 in the division Romero is riding an eight-fight winning streak. Whittaker is Ranked No.3 and he is victorious in seven of his latest bouts.

Also on the main card a welterweight encounter between Robbie Lawler and Donald Cerron. As well, Fabricio Werdum takes on Alistair Overeem at heavyweight. In addition a lightweight battle between Anthony Pettis and Jim Miller.
