Battle of Brisbane: Manny Pacquiao vs Jeff Horn
Boxing great out of Philippines Manny Pacquiao (59-6-2, 38 KO) faces off Australian Jeff Horn (16-0-1, 11 KO) on July 2 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The contest is for the WBO World welterweight title.
“Pacman” is a current champion who is looking forward to the following defense of the belt. “Hornet” goes up against one of the most renowned boxers of all times, aspiring to cause an upset.
Pacquiao vs Horn headlines the event called the “Battle of Brisbane”. Five bouts featuring on the undercard have been revealed to date.
The program includes a middleweight clash between Dave Toussaint (10-0-0, 8 KO) of Australia and Shane Mosley Jr (10-1-0, 7 KO) of the USA. As well, Australian Damien Hooper (12-1-0, 8 KO) squares off against Umar Salamov (19-0-0, 14 KO) of Russia. The challenge is for a vacant IBF Australasian light heavyweight title and the WBO International light heavyweight belt.
Also on the card a featherweight battle between the representative of the country-host Jarret Owen (5-4-3, 2 KO) and Michael Conlan (2-0-0, 2 KO) out of Ireland. Brock Jarvis (7-0-0, 6 KO) of Australia takes on Andika Sabu (12-0-0, 6 KO) of Indonesia at bantamweight.
In addition, Jerwin Ancajas (26-1-1, 17 KO) of Philippines faces off Teiru Kinoshita (25-1-1, 8 KO) of Japan. The contest is for the IBF World super flyweight title, currently held by Pacquiao protégé.
