The second heavyweight kickboxing encounter between Badr Hari and Rico Verhoeven is expected next year.
Numerous media reports come through this week suggesting that a rematch between the K-1 veteran Badr Hari and the Glory heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven takes place on March 25 next year. According to the German site GNP1 and other sources including Morocco World News the clash will be held at Glory event in Holland. It is also rumored that the bout will be a five-round encounter.
Glory Kickboxing has not formally announced the contest. Neither Hari nor Verhoeven indicated the rematch on their profiles in social media.
Badr Hari and Rico Verhoeven fought last December in Germany. The scheduled for three-round non-title bout headlined Glory Collision was streamed live on Pay-Per-View.
A knee in the clinch happened to injure Hari’s arm forcing the termination of the contest in the second round. As a result Verhoeven was proclaimed as a winner via TKO. Post-fight talking inside the ring both athletes showed their interest in the rematch.
Badr Hari hasn’t fought since. Verhoeven fought at Glory 41 Holland in May taking a decision against Ismael Lazaar.
