Caged Muay Thai: Noodles in the Octagon

Flashback: Emiliano ‘Noodles’ Rivera up against Tim Hartmann at Caged Muay Thai 8.

Emiliano Rivera aka “Noodles” originally made the headlines in January 2016. He appeared in the footage that shows “The Super Samoan” himself, the UFC heavyweight Mark Hunt punching him in the stomach. The video filmed by John Wayne Parr was uploaded on YouTube. As a result it made news in numerous international tabloids.

The following month River “Noodles” told his story. He shared experience of “living a really unhealthy lifestyle, eating crap food”. “[I Was] so lazy and not motivated,” he said back then.

However the journey Down Under has certainly changed his life. Rivera stayed on the Gold Coast, training at Boonchu Gym. Furthermore he fought in the ring, as well as took part in one of the Caged Muay Thai promotions.

It was last March when “Noodles” squared off against Tim Hartmann at CMT 8. There were as much or as little but over 200 kg locked in the octagon. It was a clash of the super heavyweights that produced an exchange of heavy punches and elbows.

The next CMT show is held on Friday August 4. Australian John Wayne Parr faces off Jake Purdy of England in a three round international contest, headlining the Caged Muay Thai 10 event in Brisbane.

Anticipating the happening the organization looked back, and posted the video of the Rivera vs Hartmann bout on its page on Facebook. “Back when Noodles was in Australia he fought on CMT vs Tim Hartmann,” says the caption.
