Creed II: Sins of the sons

Sylvester Stallone is, hands down, serious about the return of Ivan Drago in the upcoming chapter of Creed. Portrayed by Dolph Lundgren, the Soviet boxer was the fatal opponent of Apollo Creed in Rocky IV (1985). Although the bout was set to be an exhibition, the latter, portrayed by Carl Weathers, died in Rocky’s arms in the middle of the ring.

For several weeks Stallone has been teasing the fans with the images dedicated to Creed 2 posted on Instagram. The picture is expected in 2018. One of the most recent photos shows Drago, Johnson and Balboa.

“Something very wicked is coming this way… Sins of the Sons…,” Sylvester Stallone wrote in the caption. The image also features a handle @RockyBalboa.1976, leading to a respective Instagram profile.

One of the graphics demonstrates Rocky sitting in front of the poster with Adonis Johnson (portrayed by Michael B. Jordan) and Ivan Drago shown shoulder to shoulder. East vs West tagline is also there.

In addition, an updated storyline on IMDb says that “Adonis Creed tries to seek revenge when he goes toe to toe with the man who killed his father”. Adonis (Johnson) is a son of Apollo Creed.

Following the first film, Johnson has become a known fighter, who has been rising through the ranks aspiring to emulate some of his father’s past glories. Whether Adonis squares off against Drago or not, we will find out as soon as “around 439 handwritten pages” translates “into about a 120 page typed screenplay” and the movie premieres next year.
