The Sweet Science great Floyd Mayweather and MMA star Conor McGregor meet in a 12-round boxing match on Saturday August 26. An unprecedented contest takes its place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Undefeated in 49 bouts over the course of his career Floyd Mayweather won world titles in five different weight classes. Mixed Martial Artist Conor McGregor is a current UFC lightweight champion who makes his professional boxing debut. The final press conference was held on Wednesday at the Ka Theatre inside the MGM Grand.
Mayweather: I’m giving it
“Anything and everything that can be done in boxing, I’ve done it. Not just once, not just twice… 1000 times,” said Floyd Mayweather.
“A lot of times you’ve got guys talking about what they’re going to do, what they’re going to give, how they’re going to be aggressive. But you also have to realize, there’s two sides to everything. The same way you’re talking about giving it, hopefully you’re able to take it also.”
“When it’s all said and done, one thing I know I can do – I can fight. I can give it and I can take it. But for me to be 49-0 it’s obvious I’m not receiving, I’m giving it,” he concluded.
McGregor: He should have left me where I was
“I will go forward and I will break this old man,” said McGregor. “Eight ounce gloves, he made a big, big error I feel. I will beat this man at his own game. I am on a different level to him. He’s not even a quarter of the man I am.”
“I’m gonna f*** this boy up. Make no mistake, he should have left me where I was.”
