Amel Dehby makes victorious comeback

Battle of Saint-Raphael 5 was the eight-fight bill produced on Saturday September 9 live on Canal Plus Sport. The event promoted by Badri Rouabhia featured the A-list French fighters up against international opponents. Four World Kickboxing Network European titles were challenged on the night. In addition, the event marked a return of famed Amel Dehby.

In the main event French Jocelyn Branchu stopped his Ukrainian opponent Igor Osinin in the fifth round. As a result he became a new WKN European super lightweight champion.

In the co-main event Maltese Keith Azzopardi caused an upset. Scoring a decision against the representative of the country-host Mathias Branchu, he claimed WKN European lightweight belt.

Also on the night, super lightweight Hakim Ketaieb KO’d Czech Frantisek Adam in the second round, consequently becoming WKN European champion in oriental kickboxing. As well, Mallaury Kalachnikoff took a decision against Czech Tereza Dvorakova, winning WKN European women’s lightweight strap.

Amel Dehby made her highly anticipated return facing off “Karate Queen” out of Northern Ireland Cathy McAleer. The latter took the fight on a short notice, replacing German Meryem Uslu. The women’s bantamweight battle went the distance, with French fighter taking the win.
