Belarusian Vitaly Gurkov takes part in Kunlun Fight 67

Kickboxing promotion Kunlun Fight 67 is held on Sunday November 5 in Chinese province Hubei. The program of the event features the opening round of the eight-man single elimination tournament at the 75 kg weight class.

Vitaly Gurkov partakes in the eliminator facing off the representative of the country-host Nurla Mulali. The bout is a rematch following their first encounter in June in Bangkok where Belarusian won the fight by decision.

“I don’t know if it [the second fight] was deliberately organized as a rematch, or it’s just a coincidence,” Gurkov told FIGHTMAG on Friday.

Vitaly Gurkov is a multiple IFMA Muay Thai World Champion as well as the first 75 kg gold medalist at The World Games 2017 in Poland. The highlight of his resume also includes the 2014 WBC World super welterweight title, claimed against Kem Sitsongpeenong in Italy. In addition he is the winner of the Oceania championship tournament “Brute Force” held in Australian Melbourne in 2007.

Currently representing Banchamek Gym, Belarusian fighter Vitaly Gurkov has fought the “King of Muay Thai” himself, Buakaw. The pair faced off in the finale of the 2012 Thai Fight in Bangkok.

The list of other participants at Kunlun Fight 67 includes Mohammed Jaraya, Zhang Yang, Mohamed Diaby, Yiliyasi, Mergen Bilyalov and Shen Li.
