Coello vs Goncalves for WKN bantamweight title

World Championship returns to Spain on Saturday December 16. The representative of the country-host Carlo Coello takes on Portuguese Joao Goncalves, battling out for WKN bantamweight Muay Thai title in the city Ponferrada, World Kickboxing Network confirmed on Thursday, as well as shared the official poster of the upcoming event.

Carlos Coello, 27, is a prominent competitor who has been residing in Thailand for the past three years. Over the course of his career he has earned WMC Spanish title and WBC International belt. The list of his opponents includes Thai Anantasak and Payakdam, just to name a couple.

Joao Goncalves is as well an active Muay Thai fighter. His resume includes the battles against Alan Almeida, Carlos Barbera, Nelson Moreira, among others.

The Coello vs Goncalves championship bout is scheduled for five rounds. The promoter of the event is Diego Vazquez.

The upcoming event is the third WKN promotion in Spain this year, following two Hombres de Honor MMA fight nights held in June and February. Over the years the organization has held numerous shows throughout the country, visiting such cities as Madrid, Barcelona, Cataluna, Lleida, as well as Balearic Islands, and others.
