Gladiators Fight Night 18 Malta results

International kickboxing returned to Malta on Saturday October 28 with Gladiators Fight Night 18 held at The Pavilion Gastro Pub in Paolo. Promoted under the banner of The Peace Fighters, the event featured the 12-fight bill with local and international competitors, representing Italy, Switzerland and Northern Ireland.

In the main event Maltese Jesred Piscopo took on Giuliano Lai of Italian Sardinia. The pair battled out for WKN European pro-amateur lightweight title. The bout went the distance with the representative of the country host proclaimed as the winner by decision.

Piscopo became the following fighter out of Malta to win WKN belt. Few years back the country has crowned its first professional World Champion Daniel “The Jet” Zahra. Ever since, under umbrella of World Kickboxing Network numerous Maltese athletes, such as Ruben Azzopardi and Christopher Rotin, just to name a couple, travel the Globe, partaking in various WKN championship events.

Among other bouts featured on the main card, Maltese super featherweight Keith Azzopardi similarly defeated another representative of Sardinia, Alessandro Caredda. The undercard featured a series of amateur and junior contests.
