UFC 217 takes place at Madison Square Garden this Saturday (Sunday in Australia), with three championship defenses featured on the card. The event marks the return of MMA great out of Canada Georges St-Pierre, who takes on the reigning middleweight champion, England’s Michael Bisping.
At the official weigh-in ceremony conducted on Friday, Bisping showed 184.6. GSP was 184.4.
In the co-main event Cody Garbrandt defends the bantamweight title against his ex team mate TJ Dillashaw. Stepping on the scales the champion showed 135. The challenger was 134.8.
In addition, the women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzjczyk aspires to break Ronda Rousey’s record, by making the seventh consecutive title defense, when she faces Rose Namajunas. Jedrzjczyk weighed-in at 115. Namajunas was 114.
The expected preliminary light heavyweight bout between Ion Cutelaba and Michal Oleksiejczuk has been called off due to a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation by Cutelaba. The current fight card and weigh-in results can be found below.
