Ganryujima: Out Enemy in Maihama

Ganryujima is a Mixed Martial Arts promotion launched in 2015 in Japan. Aspiring to popularize the “Way of Samurai” the events feature numerous international competitors, who represent their respective Martial Arts.

As a result the bouts go ahead in the format of “Style vs. Style”. The contests are held on a flat circle, with the rules equivalent to typical MMA bouts, excluding submissions.

The promoter of the event is a former K-1 executive Sadaharu Tanikawa. As of last year Ganryujima collaborates with World Kickboxing Network.

On Saturday the organization announced its upcoming show, that is set to launch the next season. The event subtitled as “Out Enemy” takes place at Maihama Amphitheater in Tokyo on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. The show airs live on Fuji network from 4:30 PM local time.

The roster includes the representatives of Judo, Kickboxing, Sumo, Systema, Karate and other disciplines. Among the bouts Katsunori Kikuno takes on Michihiro Omigawa. Shouma Sivixay faces Brian Douwes. Hasumi Ryuta goes up against Norimasa Iwasaki. The expected lineup can be found below.

Parviz Iskenderov
Parviz Iskenderov is a Muay Thai fighter from Perth, Australia. He is a former National champion of Belarus, and also a finalist of IFMA European Cup. He is an editor and journalist at FIGHTMAG. Iskenderov is also the World Kickboxing Network (WKN) international coordinator for Australia.
