Although international kickboxing is no longer in its heyday, the way it was with the original K-1, televised across the Planet from Japan in 2000s… There is still a set of the world-class promotions happening every weekend.

Finalizing the year, the second fight weekend of December brings us to three European countries, as well as to South America. The list includes the shows in Italy, Holland, Brazil and Greece.

It all starts on Saturday December 9 in Italian Florence, where the Australian Muay Thai legend John Wayne Parr makes his second appearance at Bellator Kickboxing. “The Gunslinger” faces local Piergiulio Paolucci in a three-round 74 kg bout.

Meanwhile The Netherlands accommodates a highly anticipated rematch between Dutch Rico Verhoeven and Moroccan Jamal Ben Saddik. The pair battles out for the heavyweight title, in the headline bout at Glory Redemption, streamed live on UFC PPV from Rotterdam.

We then move as far as to South American Brazil. This is where Marreta Correa Promotion presents The Official K-1 Open in collaboration with World Kickboxing Network. The show held in Florianopolis features the 10-fight bill with local and international competitors.

The culmination of the weekend takes place back in Europe with “The Battle 17” held in Athens on Sunday December 10. Proclaimed as the best fight show for the year in Greece, the event features the A-list representatives of the country-host up against international opponents, with two WKN titles challenged on the night.
