“Karate Queen” Cathy McAleer

International kickboxing returns to Belfast with the next “made-in ProKick” event held on February 17. Promoted by Billy Murray, Saturday Fight Night Special takes place at Stormont Hotel, featuring the A-list kickboxers of Northern Ireland, guests from overseas, as well as the amateur competitors. In addition, The Peace Fighters are expected to make an appearance at the event.

On Wednesday World Kickboxing Network announced Cathy McAleer, who is back in the ring at the upcoming show. Going through the ropes in her home town of Belfast “Karate Queen” faces an opponent whose name is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Over the course of her career Cathy McAleer earned WKN World bantamweight title in Full Contact. Her resume also includes the victories against such opponents as Maltese Kylie Cocker, German Fabienne Erdas, American Ariana Siegel, English Dani Hodges, among others. Furthermore, last September McAleer went up against French star Amel Dehby, taking the bout on a short notice.

ProKick Kickboxing at Stormont Hotel follows The Usual Suspects 3 held last June in Newtownards. The roadshow main event at Queen’s Hall saw McAleer earning a unanimous decision against Italian Beatrice Marcialis.

Other match ups at ProKick Kickboxing are expected to be announced in the near future. We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
