Jorge ‘Acero’ Cali is back at training

Jorge “Acero” Cali gets ready for One More Round

Argentine star Jorge Cali is back at training. Known as “Steel” (Spanish: Acero), he is the former World Kickboxing Network super cruiserweight champion, who has made three successful title defenses. His resume includes the victories against Brazilians Adul Ranmhemavo and Ademar Correa, Moroccan Abderahim Benazzizi, his country-fellows Walter Roszuk and Juan Jose Palermo, among others.

In 2013 “Acero” has officially retired from fighting. In his final bout he has tested himself in MMA, facing the defeat inside the Octagon against Horacio “El Ninja” Enrique.

Post-retirement Cali launched a political campaign. Being elected, he served as the President of Escobar City Council. He however didn’t step away from Sport, being involved in numerous promotions including Simply the Best and Bosch Tour.

Last year a new video emerged featuring the highlight moments of South American kickboxer, Cali. The clip titled as “One More Round” appeared as a hint that “Acero” would be again going through the ropes.

In October 2017 he reportedly suffered an achilles tendon rupture that required surgery. Nevertheless, after 70 days of recovery “Acero” Cali is back at training. He is coached by Fernando Munoz.

On Monday FIGHTMAG learned that “it is very possible” that Jorge Cali will appear inside the square circle this year. WKN office advised that “more information will follow in the near future”.
