Yodsanklai Fairtex is back
Famed Yodsanklai Fairtex returned to action last night (Feb. 3) in Shenzhen. “The King of Muay Thai” faced German strong, the 2014 K-1 World Max champion Enriko Kehl. The pair battled out in the main event of Chinese kickboxing promotion Wu Lin Feng (WLF).
The scheduled for three rounds bout went the distance. The judges decision went in favor of Thai star, who consequently updated his fight record to 198 wins (198-71-4). Kehl dropped to 42-14-1.
“Big thanks to all the fans, and for all the support,” Yodsanklai captioned the photo posted on Facebook after the fight.
“It was not enough today, but still a very close fight against the living legend,” wrote Kehl on his Fanpage. “Thanks a lot for that fight Yodsanklai, you are still a hero for me and I respect you. Thanks also everybody for the preparation and being there for me.”
Yodsanklai Fairtex is the former two-division Lumpinee Stadium champion. Regarded as one of the best Muay Thai fighters of all time, he is also a multiple World Champion and the winner of The Contender Asia (2008). Over the course of his career he defeated Yohan Lidon, John Wayne Parr, Dzhabar Askerov, Kem Sitsongpeenong, among others.
