Rowena Bolt wins WKN Irish title

International kickboxing returned to Northern Ireland with Saturday Fight Night Special held at Stormont Hotel in Belfast on February 17. The sold out “made-in Prokick” event promoted by Billy Murray featured a solid card with local stars and international competitions. Topping up the bill, prestigious WKN title was contested on the night.

In the main event Cathy McAleer faced Martyna Ciaskowska of Poland. The scheduled for three rounds bout at 53 kg catchweight ended prior the final bell. The crowd favorite McAleer stopped her opponent in the final round with body shots and knees.

Also on the card Iranian Salman Shariati (fighting out of Belfast, Northern Ireland) took on Polish welterweight Patryn Klak. The bout went the distance with the judges decision pronounced as a draw.

The highlight of the event featured Rowena Bolt up against Kerry Doyle. The pair battled out for WKN Irish amateur flyweight title in Full Contact. The representative of the country-host earned the belt scoring the third-round TKO win.

The undercard included a series of amateur and novice bouts. The full results can be found below.
