Rob Powdrill vs. Peter Davenport
Australian all-rounder Rob Powdrill returns to MMA action on Saturday March 17. Taking on Peter Davenport he is featured on the card at Australian Fighting Championship (AFC 24) which takes place at Perth Metro City.
“FSU” Powdrill last fought in August 2017, going through the ropes on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Fighting three kickboxing bouts in one night he took part in “Ozzie Toughman” knockout tournament.
Powdrill’s latest MMA bout was back in 2012 when he was submitted by David Johnson (4-3) in the first round. His current professional record is 2-2.
Peter Davenport (4-6) is coming from Melbourne, Victoria. His resume includes the wins against Harris Norwood, Luis Dabu, Dean Purdon and Shaun Wilcock. His most recent bout was last October when he was TKO’d by Shaowei Wang with punches in the third round.
Powdrill vs. Davenport is scheduled for three rounds at middleweight. Among other bouts featured on the AFC 24 fight card Australian Steve Kennedy (24-8) meets Filipino Arben Escayo (4-4) at welterweight.
In addition, late last month Rob Powdrill made a post on his page on Facebook, reveling he was set to contest for the first IBF World Title in Muay Thai.
“Fighting for this bling in May, hoping to become the 1st IBF 79kg Muaythai world champion… in the world. I’ll post details asap,” he wrote in the caption.
