UFC 222: Brian Ortega KO’s Frankie Edgar

UFC 222 took place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday March 4. The main card live on Pay-Per-View featured five bouts with women’s featherweight title contested in the main event.

The defending UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg faced the former Invicta FC bantamweight titleholder Yana Kunitskaya. The scheduled for five rounds bout ended prior the final horn. Cyborg made a successful title defense claiming the win in the first round by way of TKO.

In the co-main event Frankie Edgar took on Brian Ortega. The pair squared off in the scheduled for three rounds featherweight battle. The bout also ended in the first round with Ortega scoring the win by knockout.

Also on the card bantamweight Sean O’Malley earned a unanimous decision against Andre Soukhmathath. Heavyweight Andrei Arlovski similarly defeated Stefan Struve. In addition, bantamweight Ketlen Vieira took a split decision against Cat Zingano. The complete UFC 222 results can be found below.
