Sarara vs. Mozny: Fight of the Year in Poland
Polish heavyweight Tomasz Sarara (38-7) and “Slovakian Giant” Tomas Mozny (14-5) face off at Boxing Night 14 on May 25 in Warsaw. The match up has been confirmed on Sunday by World Kickboxing Network with the event poster shared via Twitter. The announced contest is for WKN World Super Heavyweight title, taking its place at the largest association football arena in Poland, PGE Narodowy (National Stadium), which has a seating capacity of 58,145.
The upcoming bout is the second encounter between Sarara and Mozny inside the square circle. The pair has previously met in 2013, battling out in the final round of boxing tournament Bigger’s Better 22 held in Polish city Zakopane. The bout went the distance with the representative of the country-host proclaimed as the winner by a unanimous judges decision.
Tomasz Sarara is riding the 18-fight win streak since 2013. In his most recent bout held last December he scored a unanimous decision against Latvian Artur Gorlov. His resume also includes the victories against Saulo Cavalari, Nikolai Falin, Daniel Skvor, among others.
Tomas Mozny is coming off a unanimous decision win earned against Skvor early March at GLORY 51 Rotterdam. Earlier in his career he defeated the likes of Daniel Sam, Cihad Kepenek, Thomas Vanneste.
The Sarara vs. Mozny bout is scheduled for five rounds in oriental kickboxing (K-1 rules).
