TEKB 15: Pignolo vs. Hristov for WKN European super welterweight title
Kickboxing event TEKB 15 (Trophée de l’Ephèbe) takes place at Palais des Sports in Cap d’Agde on Saturday May 5. The event promoted by Christophe Dragole is an annual gala which features some of the best French fighters up against international opponents.
Earlier this month World Kickboxing Network announced that European championship headlines the upcoming show. On Tuesday the organization revealed the names of challengers, featuring French Michael Pignolo who defends his WKN European super welterweight title against Hristov Hristo of Bulgaria.
Pignolo won the strap back in 2014 in French city Arles, where he scores a unanimous decision against Frank Madsen of Greenland. Over the course of his career he has also defeated Yazid Boussaha, Sofian Hadj Brahim, Fabian Kristof, among others.
The resume of Hristov includes the battles against the likes of Niall McDermott and Iurii Konikov. One of his highlights is a three-round contest against French star Abdallah Mabel last December in Saint-Fons. In addition he holds the 8-1-1 record in MMA, with the victories over Vladislav Kanchev, Branko Babachev
The Pignolo vs. Hristov bout is scheduled for five rounds in oriental kickboxing (K-1 rules).
The rest of the TEKB 15 Agde fight card is expected to feature the promotion’s 77 kg title fight, French National championship bout and a series of rating bouts. We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
