Gokhan Saki returns to action at UFC 226, reports

UFC 226: Miocic vs. Cormier

Gokhan Saki makes his second appearance inside the Octagon on July 8 (July 7 in the US). “The Turkish Tyson” partakes in UFC 226, FOX Sports NL reported on Wednesday. The event takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, during the annual International Fight Week.

After leaving GLORY Kickboxing, Gokhan Saki made his UFC debut last September at Fight Night 177 in Saitama, Japan. The 34-year-old light heavyweight K-1 legend scored the first round knockout win against Brazilian Henrique da Silva.

In his next outing Saki was lined up to fight Khalil Rountree at UFC 219 last December, but was forced to withdraw due to knee injury (a torn meniscus) suffered at training. The name of his next opponent is yet known.

UFC 226 is headlined by a super fight featuring the reigning light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who moves up a weight class, and challenges the defending heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic. More information and other match ups are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
