This year World Martial Arts Games (WMAG) is held from 7 to 8 April in Geneva, Switzerland. The event promoted by the former World Champion Carl Emery features various disciplines, including Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Police tactical self-defense, Kyokushin Karate, Grappling GI & NO GI, Nunchaku, musical forms, among others.
The highlight of the event, presented by World Kickboxing Network, is the women’s MMA contest between Czech Veronika Rodova and French Morgane Ribout. The bout is scheduled for two by five minute rounds at bantamweight.
Rodova made her professional MMA debut earlier this month when she earned the second-round TKO win against Polish Judyta Rymarzak. Earlier in her career she defeated Natalia Matlag, Adrianna Bosacka, Lenka Cechlovska, among others.
Ribout is riding a two-fight win streak. Her resume includes the victories via submission against Charlyn Guinyang and Walaa Abbas Mohamed Kamaly.
World Martial Arts Games was launched in 2013 under the “Sports for all” slogan. The previous event was held in 2015. The WMAG 2018 is televised on Canal Plus.
