John Wayne Parr suffers defeat at Bellator Kickboxing 9

John Wayne Parr: Thought I Won

John Wayne Parr made his third appearance at Bellator Kickboxing this past Friday (April 6) in Budapest, Hungary. Highly anticipating to become the first Australian to earn 100 career wins, the 41-year-old Muay Thai fighter battled out against Portuguese Eder Lopes, 20.

The three round bout at catchweight with the limit of 74 kg went the distance. The judges decision went in favor of Lopes, who updated his record to 11-2. Parr dropped to 99-33.

“Thought I’ve won,” Parr said in theĀ video posted on Twitter after the bout. “Could have gone either way the third round, but I definitely thought I’ve won the first two.”

“When they read the decision I thought ‘for sure they were gonna put my hand up’. But… sh*t happens.”

In the main event Raymond Daniels scored the decision against Djibril Ehouo, taking the welterweight belt. Also on the card Alexey Iganshov similarly defeated Dzevad Poturak at heavyweight. The complete results can be found below.
