Simply the Best 19 Buenos Aires
Kickboxing series Simply the Best 19 Buenos Aires airs live on FOX Sports Latin America on May 18. The event promoted by famed Jorge “Acero” Cali takes place at Club GEI in Ituzaingo, featuring the A-list Argentine fighters up against international opponents, with three WKN titles contested on the night.
On Friday the bantamweight battle between Argentine Ignacio Capllonch and Brazilian Maiquel Pereyra topped up the roster. The pair squares off within the three rounds of oriental kickboxing (K-1 rules).
Capllonch is one of the most prominent Argentine kickboxers, alongside “Acero” Cali, Cristian Bosch and Federico Roma. Among everything his resume includes world titles in two different weight classes and styles. In 2013 he captured WKN Bantamweight title in oriental kickboxing winning against Cleidson Ramos in Argentina, and in 2015 he gained Super Flyweight belt when he stopped Jerome Ardissone in France.
Brazilian Pereyra makes his next appearances in nearby Argentina. Among everything in 2017 he battled out at Bosch Tour 6 going up against local Edgardo Cuenca. He makes his “Simply the Best” debut.
STB 19 Buenos Aires is headlined by Argentine Cristian Bosch who defends his WKN International Light Heavyweight title against Colombian Andres Dussan in the championship rematch. Also on the card Argentine Martin Velasco and Brazilian Marcelo Morrudo contest for WKN International middleweight strap. In addition, Argentine Pablo Roa and Juan Avilar Villalba of Praraguay battle out for WKN International lightweight belt. The current lineup can be found below.
