GLORY 53 Lille results: Sitthichai & Meksen retain titles


Kickboxing event GLORY 53 was held in French Lille on Saturday May 12. The fight card comprised a series of international bouts with two titles contested on the night.

In the main event Thai Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong successfully defended his lightweight belt against Tyjani Beztati of Morocco. The five-round contest went the distance with the representative of the Kingdom of Thailand retaining his belt via a unanimous decision.

Anissa Meksen similarly defeated her country-woman Amel Dehby. She as well successfully defended her super bantamweight title.

Also on the night Serhii Adamchuk took all four-man featherweight tournament. In the semi-final he scored a unanimous decision against Azize Hlali. In the final he similarly defeated Victor Pinto. On the way to the final, the latter took a majority decision against Buray Bozaryilmaz.

Among other bouts Zinedine Hameur-Lain stopped Michael Duut in the first round, and Cedric Doumbe KO’d Thongchai Sitsongpeenong also in the first. The complete results can be found below.
