World Muay Thai Championships 2018

The sixth day of the bouts at World Championships 2018 in Cancun, Mexico crowned several champions in women’s and men’s classes, International Federation of Muaythai Amateur reported. Seven countries earned nine medals in Ring A, with Mexico, Thailand and Australia, among others, taking Gold.

Italian Martine Michieletto became IFMA World Champion 2018 in women’s 57 kg class taking the decision against French Anaelle Angerville. Helen Jurisic of Croatian also took Gold, when she defeated the last year’s 71 kg champion Angela Mamic of Sweden. In addition, Belarusian Alena Liashkevich retained her top spot in the 45 kg class, taking the win against the representative of the country-host Paola Jacqueline Gonzales.

Thai Arnon Phontratnok defeated Yelaman Sayassatov of Kazakhstan in their second outing, following The World Games 2017, taking Gold in the 51 kg class. Another representative of the Kingdom of Thailand, Apichet Nakkaeo became the champion in the 48 kg class, coming out victorious against Ovsep Aslanyan of Russia.

The final day of IFMA Worlds 2018 is scheduled to see the championship bouts in the women’s and men’s elite classes. The complete results and scoring can be found at IFMAlive.com.
