Gaylord Montier takes WKN World Featherweight title at ‘Choc des Mondes’ in Caudry
World Kickboxing Network visited French commune Caudry this past Saturday (June 2) with the “Choc des Mondes” event held at Sports Palace. The fight card featured a series of international match ups with WKN title contested on the top of the bill.
Representing the country-host Gaylord Montier faced off Thai competitor Muangsee Pumpanmuang in the scheduled for five rounds championship bout. The pair battled out for WKN World Featherweight title.
The bout didn’t go the distance, with the local athlete taking the win by knockout in the third round. As a result Gaylord Montier became a new champion in the division, adding a prestigious belt to his collection, which already includes ISKA World and WAKO Pro European straps.
The event was promoted by Youssef Hallouane. The championship supervisor was Osman Yigin of Belgium.
The “Choc des Mondes” gala in Caudry was produced on the same day as the “Event of the Year in Australia” Domination Muay Thai 20 held in Perth. Battling out in front of his home crowd, Toby “The Weapon” Smith became WKN Middleweight champion, taking the third-round TKO win against England’s Sam Gough.
