FISU World University Muay Thai Championship 2018

Muay Thai World University Championships 2018 is held from July 21 to July 31 in Pattaya, Thailand. The bouts take place at Hard Rock Hotel with over 40 Nations expected to compete for medals.

“Building up Friendship and Bringing out Harmony with Muay Thai” is the official motto for the event, International Federation of Muaythai Amateur recently announced. It is aimed to highlight the power of sport which unites nations in celebrating the cultural diversity and friendship.

The Kingdom of Thailand once again becomes the center of the spiritual harmony and culture. The city of Pattaya, being a cosmopolitan venue, could not be a better place for student Muay Thai athletes of the world to compete for the medals recognized by the International University Sport Federation (FISU).

Friendship and harmony are truly the best descriptions for the World University Championships, and its host with the “Art of Eight Limbs” taking centre stage. It is a great honor for Universities to have medalists among their students.

Parviz Iskenderov is a Muay Thai fighter from Perth, Australia. He is a former National champion of Belarus, and also a finalist of IFMA European Cup. He is an editor and journalist at FIGHTMAG. Iskenderov is also the World Kickboxing Network (WKN) international coordinator for Australia.
