GLORY 56: Vakhitov vs. Ilunga 2

Artem Vakhitov (19-5, 8 KO) faces Danyo Ilunga (60-13, 45 KO) on August 11 in Denver, Colorado (Aug. 10 in the US). The pair battles for the Light Heavyweight title in the main event of GLORY 56, which takes place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield.

Riding a six-fight win streak Vakhitov is the reigning champion in the division. He goes through the ropes attempting to make his fourth consecutive title defense.

Ilunga is ranked No.4. Coming off two victories, he aspires to earn his first belt.

In addition, the bout is their second encounter inside the square circle. The pair first met two years ago in Milan, where Vakhitov took a three-rounds unanimous decision.

The resume of Vakhitkov includes the wins against Ariel Machado, Saulo Cavalari, Lorenzo Javier Jorge, among others. Ilunga defeated the likes of Michael Duut, Fraser Weightman, Andrei Stoica.

The rest of the main card, as well as GLORY 56 Super Fight Series and the preliminary programmme are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
