Australian kickboxer Daniel Dawson makes ONE Championship debut

Daniel Dawson is back in the ring

Daniel Dawson is expected to make his ONE Championship debut in July or August this year, Kalgoorlie Miner reported late this week. The outing follows his Muay Thai comeback in October 2016 in Perth, where he faced John Wayne Parr for the third time, who took the win by decision.

Over the course of his career as a kickboxer, “The Rock” Dawson earned the victories against Parr, Jordan Tai, Virgil Kalakoda, among others. During the ten-yeas run in The Sweet Science, he defeated the likes of Alex Bunema, Eusebio Baluarte, Marco Tuhumury and others, as well as went up against Glen Tapia and Austin Trout, who took the wins.

Dawson is one of the first-string Australian fighters signed by the Asian promotion, ONE Championship, in March. The list reportedly includes Martin Nguyen, Elliot Compton and Steve McKinnon.

The name of his opponent, date and place of the event are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
