Muay Thai Life: ‘The secret to how they kick so hard’
While millions of people intently keep an eye on FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, the Kings of Muay Thai meet on the football field. Literally.
A 19-second video emerged on Instagram early this week, featuring famed Saenchai PKSaenchaimuaythaigym alongside Buakaw Banchamek and Sudsakorn Sor. Klinmee.
It shows the former four-division Lumpinee Boxing Stadium champion, Saenchai kicking the ball, which lands on the back of Buakaw. The master of cartwheel kick starts doing it again, but this time the latter, the two-time K-1 World Max winner, kicks him in the chest. Saenchai falls, while the former WKN World Super Lightweight champion Sudsakorn picks up the ball and throws back at him.
The video was also posted on Twitter by a fan. “Muay Thai legends Saenchai and Buakaw showing their football skills,” says the caption. In addition, one of the comments suggests that “that’s the secret to how they kick so hard”.
Saenchai, Buakaw and Sudsakorn, are arguably the most famous Muay Thai fighters of all time, alongside The Contender Asia (2008) winner Yodsanklai Fairtex. On the numerous occasions they battled out shoulder to shoulder at the “Thai Fight” events in Thailand and Europe, aspiring to demonstrate the world the authentic “Art of Eight Limbs”, Muay Thai.
