GLORY 6 Istanbul: Gokhan Saki vs. Daniel Ghita
“The Turkish Tyson” Gokhan Saki and Romanian heavyweight Daniel Ghita squared off for the second time on April 6, 2013. The pair battled out at kickboxing event GLORY 6 held in Istanbul, Turkey. The heavy-hitters have first met in the quarter final of K-1 World Grand Prix held three years earlier in Tokyo, Japan.
GLORY Kickboxing recently released a video of the second bout between Saki and Ghita. The contest is featured on the “Fight Watch” programme, where “Joseph Valtellini sits down with legendary trainer Mike Passenier to discuss Gokhan Saki’s outstanding performance against Daniel Ghita at GLORY 6”.
The bout ended in the second round. “The Rebel” Saki took the win by TKO with punches, consequently stating the second victory over Ghita.
Their first clash went the distance, moreover an extra round was required. A unanimous decision went in favor of Saki.
In 2017 Gokhan Saki made a transition to MMA. He made his UFC debut last September in Saitama, where he scored the win by knockout in the first round against Brazilian Henrique da Silva. In his next outing he appears on the main card of UFC 226: Miocic vs Cormier, taking on Khalil Rountree.
