Prokick results: Konstantinou TKO’s McMullan, Del-Toro decisions Stamatiou

Bolt TKO’s Schemeri, takes WKN International FW title

International kickboxing returned to Northern Ireland with the Prokick special held last night at Stormont Hotel Belfast. The fight card featured a series of bouts with some of the best local fighters, as well as the representatives of Cyprus, Malta, England, Scotland and Spain.

The main event marked the return of Darren McMullan who faced Nikolas Konstantinou of Cyprus. The scheduled for four rounds middleweight bout ended prior the final bell.

In the opening round “The Iceman” McMullan received a deep cut, resulting in termination of the contest by the doctor. Konstantinou was proclaimed as the winner by TKO.

The co-main event featured Spanish welterweight Rafa Del-Toro up against Cypriot Stephanos Stamatiou. The bout went the distance. The decision went in favor of the fighter from Gran Canaria residing in Belfast.

Topping up the bill, representing the country-host Rowena Bolt took on Diane Schembri of Malta. The pair battled out for WKN International Flyweight title. The bout ended in the third round when the doctor stopped the contest reportedly due to forehead injury received by Maltese athlete. As a result local fighter took the belt.

The undercard featured a series of amateur and novice bouts.
