IFMA European Championships 2018 – Day 1
The opening round of European Muay Thai Championships 2018 held in Prague, Czech Republic is in the books. The competition takes place at the TipSport Arena across two rings. The first day of the bouts was “full of exciting action with young and new faces on many of the teams,” IFMA reported on Monday.
Following the official opening ceremony conducted the day before, as many as nine contests went ahead, featuring the 16 and 17-year-old competitors battling out in their respective weight classes. As well, a series of bouts in Senior division took place.
Among the participants the first day of the bouts featured such countries as Bulgaria, Turkey, Armenia, Portugal, Lithuania, Russia and Montenegro. The representatives of the country-host, Czech fighters also stepped inside the square circle, battling out in front of the home crowd.
The roster of the event reportedly comprises 65 divisions, 40 National Delegations represented by 274 athletes, squaring off in 277 bouts held during the most important European Muay Thai event of the year.
