Jeff Horn: Congratulations Manny Pacquiao, Rematch?
Manny Pacquiao returned to action this past Sunday in Kuala Lumpur, where he stopped Argentine Lucas Matthysse in the seventh round. In addition, the famed Filipino boxer became a new WBA ‘regular’ welterweight champion.
The bout was “Pacman’s” first outing after he suffered a defeat against Australian Jeff Horn last July in Brisbane. The latter scored a unanimous decision in front of his home crowd, as well as took WBO Welterweight belt.
Pacquiao used his opportunity for an immediate rematch. He however withdrew from the bout citing his duties in the Senate of Philippines.
As a result Horn fought and TKO’d British Gary Corcoran in the eleventh round, making a successful defense of the title last December in Brisbane. In June he lost the strap against American Terence Crawford, who claimed the win by TKO in the ninth round in Las Vegas.
Horn returned to Australia, and a proposed bout against Anthony Mundine was reportedly targeted for November. Nevertheless, after Pacquiao’s win on Sunday, the Australian posted their weigh-in photo on Instagram, congratulating the latter and suggesting a rematch.
