2018 FISU World University Muay Thai Championship

This year FISU World University Muay Thai Championship is held from 23 to 29 July at the Hard Rock Hotel in Pattaya, Thailand. The event is featured on the IFMA calendar, following European Championships held earlier this month in the capital of Czech Republic, Prague.

FISU Muay Thai Worlds 2018 is promoted under the slogan of “Building up Friendship and Bringing out Harmony with Muay Thai”. Numerous teams have arrived to Thailand this week to partake in a seven-day sporting fiesta.

“The teams arrived at Bangkok airport, greeted by young volunteers – who are also university students in Thailand. There was a lovely celebration of youth as the teams met each other and traveled on by coach to the beach-side resort of Pattaya,” International Federation of Muaythai Amateur reported. The list of countries-participants includes Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, Hungary, Poland, Israel, Russia and others.

“All are staying at the Hard Rock Cafe resort in Pattaya. The venue is also in this resort meaning another sustainable event for muaythai as there will be no transport required on a daily basis.”

The event details and fight results can be found on WUC Muaythai. The first round of the bouts is scheduled for Monday.
