FISU Muay Thai World University Championship 2018
FISU World University Championship takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel in Pattaya, Thailand from 23 to 29 July. The bouts are held outdoors producing a seven-day open air sports fiesta with 23 countries participating, International Federation of Muay Thai Amateur reported.
The official opening ceremony and the first round of competition is in the books. The programme comprised twelve bouts featuring nine male and three female contests. As many as six bouts ended prior the final bell with the athletes demonstrating their Muay Thai skills and dominance.
Among the bouts, French Simon Blancho scored a unanimous decision against Barnousst Mohamedel of Morocco at the 57 kg male class. In the same division, the representative of the country-host Yodphaka Pakorn stopped Japanese Hitachi Hyuma in the second round. Israeli Block Nili earned the first-round TKO win against Albina Kulbizekova of Kazakhstan at the 60 kg women’s category.
Team Australia is represented by Diandra Martin of Canberra, ACT, who takes on Thai Phaenphloi Saeaia at the 63.5kg women’s class on July 28. The complete results can be found on WUC Muaythai.
