FISU Muay Thai World University Championship 2018
The fifth day of competition at FISU Muay Thai University World Championship in Pattaya showcased the round of semi-finals. The programme comprised twelve bouts with ten male and two female contests.
It was the last chance to qualify for the finals. The spectators witnessed the “tears of joy and sadness along with some of the most exciting Muay Thai match-ups of the tournament,” International Federation of Muaythai Amateur reported.
Among the bouts, Belarusian Mark Valovich scored the decision against Almaz Sarsembekov of Kazakhstan at the 57 kg male class. In the 71 kg division the representative of the country-host Nangkasem Pratchaya stopped Jordan Pili Djoma of France in the second round.
In the women’s 60 kg battle Spanish Alejandra Calvo Romero earned the first-round TKO win against Labfas Chengay of Philippines. In the same category Israeli Nili Block stopped Thai Kesinee Tabtrai in the third round. The complete results can be found on the official website of IFMA.
FISU Muay Thai University World Championship 2018 is held from 23 to 29 July at the Hard Rock Hotel in Pattaya, Thailand. Team Australia is represented by Diandra Martin who faces Thai Phaenphloi Saeaia in the 63.5 kg bout on July 28.
