IFMA Muay Thai Youth World Championships 2018
IFMA Muay Thai Youth Worlds Championships is a single-elimination tournament held in Bangkok, Thailand from 2 to 10 August. The roster of the event includes over 1,200 competitors battling it out across four rings located at the National Stadium.
Australia is among 83 countries participants. The team includes 37 athletes.
Six Australian fighters advanced closer to medals on Day 3. Following the opening rounds, the fourth and fifth days of competition feature the semi-final and final bouts in several classes.
Charlia Hodgson and Kiana Taingahue won first two gold medals for Australia in their respective age and weight classes. Skylah Hammil followed, taking the first place on the winners pedestal in her division, MTA reported on its page on Facebook.
In addition, Tia Gail Nikpal took Gold on Wednesday. Topping up the bill, the 2017 champions Sophie and Emily Curtain defended their titles this year.
