International Kickboxing made-in Prokick
The former four-division kickboxing world champion Billy Murray presents the next edition of “made-in Prokick” events. A Sunday fight-special takes place at the Clayton Hotel Belfast on October 14 featuring some of the leading representatives of Northern Ireland and international competitors.
The previously announced main event is a welterweight battle between local Johnny “Swift” Smith and Periklis Filippou of Cyprus. The WKN International prestige bout is scheduled for three rounds in oriental kickboxing (K-1 rules).
A nearly full main card, comprising five contests, has been released this week. Among the bouts super welterweight Matthew Kerr goes up against Scottish Shane Weir in the scheduled for four rounds Full Contact bout.
Also on the card, another international matchup between Northern Ireland and Cyprus. David Malcolm takes on Nikos Kollias in a three-round “low-kick” bout at catchweight with the limit of 74 kg.
In addition, Reza Davies of Wales squares off against Aaron Smyth of Ireland in a three-round 78 kg bout under low-kick rules.
A newly crowned WKN International Flyweight champion Rowena Bolt battles out in the co-main event. The name of her opponent is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
