Kickboxing event GLORY 58 took place at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Chicago on September 15 (AWST). The event featured a series of international bouts, with the middleweight title contested on the top of the bill.
The defending middleweight champion Alex Pereira faced the former titleholder Simon Marcus. The scheduled for five rounds bout went the distance.
Pereira took a unanimous decision win, making the third successful defense of his title. He as well took the second win against Marcus, following their first encounter in China last October.
On the Super Fight Series card Troy Jones was announced as the winner of the welterweight qualification tournament. In the semi-final he scored the first-round knockout win against Casey Greene, and was expected to face Mike Lemaire in the final. The latter took a unanimous decision against Omar Moreno, but was unable to proceed.
BREAKING NEWS AT #GLORY58 Mike Lemaire is unable to continue in the tournament, meaning that Troy Jones is the welterweight tournament winner. So that fight will NOT happen next.
