UFC 229: Fans invited to watch Khabib vs. McGregor press conference in NYC

UFC 229: Khabib vs. McGregor

Khabib Nurmagomedov defends his lightweight title against the former champion Conor McGregor on October 7 (AWST). The championship bout headlines a highly anticipated UFC 229 held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The first press conference in attendance of both fighters is scheduled for this coming Friday September 21 (AWST). The event is closed to public.

Nevertheless the promotion announced on Tuesday that a “fan viewing party” is held “in the heart of New York’s Times Square on Silvercast’s digital spectacular known as ‘Mega-Zilla'” on September 20 at 5pm (Eastern Time). “UFC fans will have the ability to watch the highly-anticipated press conference from a full block on Broadway between 45th and 46th streets on the world’s largest TV screen,” stated in the announcement.

The press conference marks the first time when the current lightweight titleholder Khabib Nurmagomedov and the former two-division champion (lightweight and featherweight) Conor McGregor come face to face. Their encounter inside the Octagon has been dubbed as “the biggest fight in UFC history”.
