Braniff faces Ballucunas, McMullan takes on Kollias

The Prokick kickboxing event takes place at Clayton Hotel in Belfast on October 14. A Sunday fight-special, promoted by Billy Murray, features the representatives of Northern Ireland up against international opponents.

A teenage feature-bout has been recently added to the card. The matchup features local James Braniff up against Sigitas Ballucunas of Ireland. The pair squares off in the scheduled for three rounds bout at catchweight with limit of 58 kg.

Braniff goes through the ropes making his “full contact” debut. Ballucunas has had four bouts.

“The teens will compete alongside some of Belfast’s kickboxing elite in an international event, dubbed, ‘Back at the Clayton’ which is set in Belfast on Sunday October 14th,” stated in the announcement. “ProKick’s other teenage high kickers on the card are: Grace Goody, Jay Snoddon, Camryn Brown, and Joshua Madden will all support Johnny Smith as he tops the bill.”

In addition, according the updated fight card, “The Iceman” Darren McMullan is back in the ring taking on Cypriot Nikos Kollias. The contest is a three round 75 kg kickboxing battle.

The event is headlined by the WKN International welterweight matchup between Johnny Smith and Periklis Filippou of Cyprus. Also on the night Matthew Kerr faces Shane Weir of Scotland in a rematch, battling out for WKN Celtic Super Welterweight title.
