The $6m man Glen Austin victorious at Thunderdome 27
Australian Muay Thai fighter Rob Powdrill was back in action this past Friday (Oct. 5). The all-rounder one more time tested himself in “The Sweet Science”, going up against Perth boxer Glen Austin.
The contest was featured on the card at the “Thunderdome 27” event held at Metro City night club in Northbridge, WA. The pair battled out for Western Australian Cruiserweight title.
The scheduled for eight rounds bout ended in the first. Powdrill reportedly knocked Austin down, and then hit again when the latter was on a knee, which resulted in a foul. “The Six Million Dollar Man” was given time to recover, and paid his opponent back, scoring a knockout win.
Ultimately, Austin updated his professional boxing record to 7-0, 2 KO. Powdrill dropped to 6-4, 1 KO.
The fight card also included a series of bouts with local and interstate competitors.
